ABOUT THE ARTIST

Robert Lyon was born in Hampton, Ontario in 1963. His artwork has been commissioned by Canadian Wildlife Service, Nature Conservancy of Canada, Wetlands for the Americas and Fundy National Park among other organizations.

Robert approaches nature with wide-eyed wonder and a deep fascination for the small and intimate moments that make up life. In 2003, Robert wrote and illustrated his first children’s book “Mick of the Marsh”. Since then he has written and illustrated eight other books for children. In 2007, Robert was chosen to illustrate the book “Foggy Cat”, published as the winning submission in New Brunswick’s Born to Read programme.

In 2020 Robert built a new studio at his home in Middle Sackville, New Brunswick. With the Tantramar Marsh as his backyard Robert has embraced the opportunity to study the richness of natural history that fills this unique habitat.
